We couldn’t bring ourselves to put plastic or PVC mouths masks against our nose and skin, so we created these organic flax linen face – mouth masks, which have become so protective and useful to us and our customers in many different ways over the years (we started making them in 1997). People use these organic linen face mouth masks while cleaning the kitchen, bathroom, garages, basements, attics, their cars, their pets (especially when cleaning their pets’ teeth). Of course, now with COVD-19, these organic flax linen face mouth masks have proven to be invaluable. Many customers use them on their own, or with a layer of our organic hankies and lint cloths or mask filters/liners for extra protection. Nurses and doctors have told us they wear our organic face – mouth masks, then put on their N95 masks on top so that their skin touches an organic material. The US government, the CDC, and many cities, states and countries around the world officially recommend or require the use of cloth fabric face covering in public to help flatten the curve and minimize community infection.

CNN: The reason the CDC said at the time that people who don’t have symptoms don’t have to wear masks was to reserve the supply of masks for medical professionals. People wondered “why are masks good for healthcare workers but not for the public”?

From Science Magazine, which interviewed George Gao, Director-General who oversees 2,000 frontline employees at the Chinese Center for Disease Control: “The big mistake in the US and Europe, in my opinion, is that people aren’t wearing masks. The virus is transmitted by droplets and close contact. Droplets play a very important role – you’ve got to wear a mask, because when you speak, there are always droplets coming out of your mouth. Many people have asymptomatic or presymptomatic infections. If they are wearing face masks, they can prevent droplets that carry the virus from escaping and infecting others.”
