For hundreds of years, people in the Far East have used fresh organic kaffir lime shampoo (from kaffir lime juice and infusions) to clean their hair and condition their scalp, without help from any other concoctions. And their shining hair has been renowned the world over. Our fresh whole organic kaffir lime shampoo or rather no-poo (as this unique kaffir lime shampoo is suds-free) is created using this same traditional recipe, which is suitable for our customers who prefer to have nothing to do with complicated, possibly unsafe ingredients in most shampoos, organic or conventional. Our Organic Kaffir Lime Shampoo is particularly important to customers suffering from MCS, or multiple chemical sensitivities, as well as those with skin allergies, rashes, ringworm, eczema, and psoriasis.

Our Organic Kaffir Lime Shampoo is completely safe for humans, pets, children, and the planet. It’s not tested on animals and free from any animal products or by-products. 100% cruelty-free.

Our original Kaffir Lime Shampoo has just one ingredient in it: you guessed it, organic kaffir limes that are hand-grown, hand-harvested, and hand-made in small batches on an organic farm run by a husband and wife. In our current version, we have added sour oranges to further tone the scalf and condition the hair as well as an herb called Bai Mee to soften and glisten the hair.

Our Organic Kaffir Lime Shampoo is exceedingly gentle and 100% natural, yet effective. It may take a long while for the residues from previous shampoos you have used to wash away and for the full gentle effect of organic kaffir limes to kick in. You do not need to use anything else on your hair. Our Organic Kaffir Lime Shampoo will balance the pH of your hair naturally. Kaffir lime is also renowned in Thailand for its ability to create lustrous, dandruff-free, shining hair, and prevent gray hair.

Since the skin and scalp can absorb toxic chemicals present in many shampoos, it is important that whatever is used on the hair and scalp be completely natural and safe.

Some customer ask us what the difference is between our organic Kaffir Lime Shampoo and conventional shampoo or even organic shampoo you find in so-called health food stores? The easy answer is – it’s like comparing whole unadulterated organic foods to processed food, even though said processed food is certified organic. We ourselves try to stay away from anything processed. Have you read ingredients on processed foods lately? There are a lot of non-food items in there! Same with so-called organic cosmetics. Look at the ingredients. If they aren’t outright harmful, they are at least unpronounceable, leaving us to wonder what these ingredients are that supposedly come from nature. The what? I’ve never heard of that grown anywhere. Our organic kaffir lime shampoo belong in the rarefied category of one-ingredient body care, made from whole organic fruits and herbs. We usually don’t eat food that we can’t recognize as coming from the garden; in the same way, we don’t put anything on our hair or body whose ingredients are made in the lab, no matter how organic the manufacturers try to assure us they are. Usage Directions for Organic Kaffir Lime Shampoo: Shake
bottle well. Wet hair. Massage shampoo into hair and scalp; use enough
for a good product coverage, usually 2-4 dollops for crewcut hair, more
for longer hair. Keep on for 3-15 minutes while you shower or bathe.
Rinse thoroughly. Your hair will look, feel, and smell delicious (it may
take a couple of weeks for old residues from other products to come off
and for your hair to shine). Use as often as you wish. No suds. No
need for a separate conditioner. It may also take time to get used to
the lack of detergent-suds in our shampoo, but your hair and scalp will
thank you for it. Enjoy soft, voluminous hair, without chemicals. Thank
you for supporting small-scale organic farming. Our Organic Kaffir Lime Shampoo can also be
left on hair under a towel for an additional 30-45 minutes to deeply condition the hair. Variations in mineral content in water, like hard or soft water, may slightly affect the results of this natural shampoo. Our Organic Kaffir Lime Shampoo can be safely used as often as needed.
Many customers have said that the organic kaffir lime shampoo works great even on their color-treated hair, but we cannot guarantee this aspect of the kaffir lime shampoo’s performance.

Please note: As with any shampoo, the effectiveness of our organic kaffir lime shampoo depends in part in the softness or hardness of your water, or if it’s heavily treated with chlorine or other chemicals. The level of environmental pollution in your area (hence in your hair) is also a factor. Many customers find that they are happiest when they use our Organic Kaffir Lime Shampoo in conjunction with a once-a-week hair wash using our Organic Hemp Shampoo Bar (a shampoo bar made without chemicals, using traditional Old-World recipes) to clear out more stubborn residues from environmental pollution.

Ingredients: Whole Kaffir Limes (Citrus

SECRET BODYCARE: Apply under the armpit while in the shower for an all-day freshness without any chemicals whatsoever. A customer also has reported that her unfortunate encounter with bedbugs at a hotel ended well when she applied our organic kaffir lime shampoo all over possible affected areas on the body and leave on for 30 minutes. She got new clothes and left the whole sorry business behind as a sorry memory. But the organic kafir lime eliminated the need to go the “delicing powder” route. Our Organic Kaffir Lime Shampoo can also be applied directly on the skin areas affected with psoriasis, eczema, or ringworm. Leave on for 5-15 minutes and rinse off. The gentle acidity of the kaffir lime counteracts the fungal and bacterial growth associated with these skin conditions and may help to alleviate or eliminate the conditions with regular use. • Kaffir lime juice (similar in properties to bergamot citrus) and kafir lime peels have
  been known to help prevent or reverse thinning hair and graying hair. The moonface peels of kaffir limes are very aromatic and therapeutic and contain antioxidants which
  act as a 100% natural preservative, avoiding the need for chemical
  preservatives in our shampoo.
• Bai Mee (Litsea Glutinosa) — is a broad geen Thai Herb long
  known to have wonderful cleansing, toning, pH balancing, and conditioning qualities
  for the hair and scalp. It’s also a great softening and hydrating conditioner for
  the hair.
• Sour Citrus: Long an ingredient in Thai
  culinary culture, but lesser known as an essential peasant recipe for
  soft, shiny, clean hair — we select it for our recipe because of its
  intense citrus aroma that lingers on long after each use. Every shampoo experience is a private aromatherapeutic session.

* Note on the name kaffir lime: we have been
told by customers of the unfortunate association of the name kaffir
with colonialism and other unsavory events in history. We use the term
here as a common name of the citrus as it is widely known in Asia and do
not intend in any way to
endorse any negative association that the name kaffir has. One of
Rawganique’s founders is Thai and he has always used the name kaffir
lime and so in this light, we continue to use the name kaffir lime
instead of resorting to its Latin name (not much better) or find another
name for it altogether.

Use our organic kaffir lime shampoo daily or as often as needed. Use a liberal amount for good hair and scalp coverage. Leave on as long as desired, up to 30 minutes. Great for everyone and every type of hair, especially those with psoriasis, dandruff, scaly scalp, eczema, and tinea versicolor, as our organic kaffir lime shampoo is extremely gentle and mild and 100% chemical-free.

For best results and for most water conditions, we recommend changing up our organic kaffir lime shampoo with our organic hemp shampoo bars. The effectiveness and feel of our organic kaffir lime shampoo, like any other shampoo, depends on the pH and the mineral level in your tap water (something that we have no control over). We have tested our organic kaffir lime shampoo in both rural (well) water as well as city (municipal) water and we have been very satisfied with the results. Some customers may need to use a filter to filter out chlorine and other metals or minerals present in water (it’s a good idea anyway, regardless of the effect on the kaffir lime shampoo).

Please note that it may take time for you to get used to our no-suds organic kaffir lime shampoo, as we have all been programmed to equate suds with shampoo.
