We couldn’t bring ourselves to put plastic or PVC mouths masks against our nose and skin, so we created these soft and tightly knitted organic cotton face – mouth masks, which have become so protective and useful to us and our customers in so many ways over the years (we started making them in 1997). People use these organic linen face mouth masks while cleaning the kitchen, bathroom, garages, boats, basements, attics, their cars, their pets (especially when cleaning their pets’ teeth). Of course, now with COVD-19, these organic cotton face mouth masks have proven to be invaluable. Many customers use them on their own, or with a layer of our organic mask filters/liners or hankies or lint cloths for extra protection. Nurses and doctors have told us they wear our organic cotton face – mouth masks, then put on their N95 masks on top so that their skin touches a soft organic material. The US government, the CDC, and many cities, states and countries around the world officially recommend or require the use of cloth fabric face covering in public to help flatten the curve and minimize community infection.

CNN: The reason the CDC said at the time that people who don’t have symptoms don’t have to wear masks was to reserve the supply of masks for medical professionals. People wondered “why are masks good for healthcare workers but not for the public”?

“Trying to avoid mask shortages for healthcare workers appears to have been the main priority of those arguing against the widespread use of masks. From Science Magazine, which interviewed George Gao, Director-General who oversees 2,000 frontline employees at the Chinese Center for Disease Control: “The big mistake in the US and Europe, in my opinion, is that people aren’t wearing masks. The virus is transmitted by droplets and close contact. Droplets play a very important role – you’ve got to wear a mask, because when you speak, there are always droplets coming out of your mouth. Many people have asymptomatic or presymptomatic infections. If they are wearing face masks, they can prevent droplets that carry the virus from escaping and infecting others.”

Care: Boil for 30 seconds to 1 minute to disinfect, clean, and sanitize and hang or lay flat to dry. Please DO NOT do this with plastic, synthetic or chemically treated GMO cotton as it’s not safe! Our face masks are 100% natural and organic, that’s why they can be sanitized by submerging in boiling water. Steam iron as needed.
